Wondering why your Holland and Germany are filled of greyed out players, even when you ticked the “Use Real Player” when creating a new game? Where are Ballack and van Nistelrooy?
I do not have exact answer on why “real” players are used. But the best answer will be that SI did not get the license from the Holland and Germany FA to display the real team.
To reveal the real players, you simply need to delete a folder in the Football Manager 2007 directory. Go to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\data\db\700, there will be a directory INC. Delete this INC folder, recreate a new game, and here come the Ballack and Kuyt.
If you are using EPL teams, you will notice that there are no clubs logos and player faces. Well, I think the licensing fee of EPL teams are too expensive, however you can download fan-made logos pictures and facepacks from www.sortitoutsi.net, and copy to the respective directory in the data directory, or directory specified by the producers themselves. Look out for the README file.
If you have problems applying the kits, logos, and pictures, turn off the skin cache and reload FM to see the changes.

Info: Excellent not just in midfield but whack him upfront for a few games and cuz he is so good in the air he will get more goals than most forwards! constant perfomer and goal scorer. never complains about being on the bench and when he does play he will produce alot for you esp in big games. i beat Birmingham 3-0 in FA Cup with wycombe with a Jones hatrick.

Tom Huddlestone (19) – DM – Worth 4.5m after one season & keeping Zokora out of my lineup.
Asaije (17) – AM – 800k – Played a few games and gave him serious creativity training! WOrth about 2.5m nowm
Ifil (20) – D/WB R – 600k – Loaned to Hearts, came back at 1.2m, put him in the team, now 3m!

Got great players coming through, for example Nicolas Meita (awesome on the wing). Need some young defenders, anyone got any ideas? If you are struggling to buy Nicolas Millian wait a couple of seasons, still a youngster, bought him for nothing, just turned pro now. Scoring goals left, right and centre.
hey ppl! if, like me, u get easily bored being a big club and feel that being a lower club is 2 boring aswel since they lacck ambition,then b PORTSMOUTH. they have money, hav the potential to be a really big club and already contain quality players like fernandes, kranjar and cambell! They also have alot of mediocre players which r easily sellable for qyt alot lyk lualua, mendes, davis etc.

Gyan looks a very very good buy as he is only 21ish, Donovan scored alot if he is played upfront and Adu links up well with both of these players, two players that are already at Portsmouth are Niko Kranjcar and Manuel Fernandes who are both fantastic now in my second season teams such as chelsea, inter and Milan are after this pair as well as Monaco, Porto and Spurs all being after Adu. Halford can play both upfront and right back but i played him at right back and he is extremely reliable.

Leo, in the proper way, you need to make ur club as famous as possible, so that famous players will come. As you are using Panathinaikos, I think the chance of making your club big take a long time, because you need to win the League, Champions’ League, for a extended period of time, before big players will come.

Wonderkids – Go to big clubs look at their transfers especially youth in takes and try sign them then for dirt cheap usually quality rated by your assistant Manager.
if you want technical players for dirt cheap look in eastern europe some are good i recommend yeremenko.. doesnt matter the status of your club he is always hugely interested in coming, five star rate player, bought him for 2.7 mill hes worth 5.5 at the mo only had him one season.

Artan : go and buy Guardardo WBL AML can get him for about 2/3mil but buy him wotever the price! after1 season hel be worth £15mil this kid is amazing and much betr than giggs trust me! I would also suggest buying Freddy Adu can get him for 2/3 mil also and his price will go up 2 £5 mil straight away, i would sugest u buy both of these players as they will become world class players and some of the best on the game, also try Marcelo, WBl AML , this kids attacking stats are AWSOME plays will left back or on the wing and if u retrain him as a ST makes an awsome one! For my 4-4-2 Diamond formation, I usually only use for the first half. And it took me a while to notice that the formation works in one half but is terrible in the other. So what do I do? I change to a 4-1(DCM)-4 formation. And with my brilliant strikers it always works.
E.G1. I was playing Birmingham in the League. I’m 2-1 down and we’re playing awful. I try the 4-1-4 formation and by the end? The score is 4-2 to me!
E.G2. I was playing Man Utd in the prem and I was 3-1 down at the end of the first half this time. I change to 4-1-4 and the score by the end? 5-3!!!!
This is a magical formation!!!!!! Oh and too all new players, start with a low division side I went form Grimsby (got them promoted), to Leeds (League winners and got promoted) and am now starting with Pompey. Oh and buy Griffith and loan him for a season or two. He will brilliant soon!

Oh and to get people like Jo or Adu to get a work permit just do the following:
Firstly buy the player and get him to agree with the contract.
At first he will not get the permit but then after this appeal.
After you have done go to the player you want and go on player interaction. Say something like he will be a star and about 80% of the time you will get the work p4ermit for your player. Has worked about 4 out of 5 times for me.

Here’s another tip: When against a average or weak defense but also against a pace attack, do the following:
On the match day at your team talk go on oppisition instructions and tell them to always tightly mark, always close down and shot onto weaker foot. I won 3-0 against Blackburn with Pompey despiting them being favourites by a lot!
A good player to buy if you a premiership mid table sort of team is Darren Bent. Scores loads of goals and you get him cheap at the very start of the game! Got him with Pompey and he scores about 1 per game on an average team. Also another player to buy is Nastja C

Giovanni Torre from the Portsmouth U18’s is magical at assisting, but keep him in your U18 squad for a season, then reserves for a few seasons then loan him out AND then put him in your first team. A long wait I know, but it shall be worth it as long as you give him VERY specific traing. Right now in my Arsenal game he is worth about 30 million and he’s not reached full potential yet!!!

Info on S.Aguero, Just shorlist him and wait and see if Athletico get relegated, I did, they did, and signed him for a bargin £13m. Became fan favourite within 6 months, top european and league goalscorer, and he’s now worth a cool £37m, sign him whatever the price !!! Plays best in a 442 formation as a forward attacking striker alongside a target man.

joey fella, u need to start a new game. Once the game has been loaded up, wen u are about to pick ur team u need to change the size of the database there, i recomend large as “Huge” is huge and may slow the game down depending on ur computer. If you use the quick menus on start up u neeed to click “Advanced Options” this will take you to a screen that looks the same as the old 2006 screen when u picked ur team on that one, in the bottom right u can change some of the preferences including thes ize f the database used.

i cant believe not 1 person has mentioned JUNIOR ROSS am,r from coronel borognesi in peru, i found this guy after scouring the database for hours on end, he is pure class u can pick him up 4 about 400,000 and he will be free if u start the season in jan 07 and his value will then be 3 mill+ very good player indeed, he went up to 7 mill after 4 seasons also top forwards are wason renteria and jo and another bargain buy is sergy kislyak for 150,000 from dinamo minsk
Here’s another tip:
Tried this with Portsmouth and seemed to work. When you start a match DO NOT have your main strikers. After half time, it will be the other team dominating. Then put your main strikers on, but do nothing else (except team talk). After 65ish minutes they are still dominating. So go on tactics, team instructions and go on DEFENDING on the mentality. After 10 minutes or so, you have scored. But the opposition will know how to work around you now. So go back on tactics right after you score, and take you mentality to ALL OUT ATTACKING or ATTACKING. You will score again. Then change your mentality to normal, and they shouldn’t score.
WARNING: ONLY TESTED WITH PORTSMOUTH.
Oh and do not try the tactic against major teams. Just a little one for the minor teams who refuse to lose to you ( e.g. Pompey and Norwich or Arsenal and Blackburn)
Also, first season of league I got fourth with Pompey and we were expected to struggle to even stay in the Premiership. This season (2nd) the board expect a respectable postion. But they gave me no funds to make the team better and no one wanted my players. I doing okay in the league but I don’t think we can live it up much longer. Also in the ECC we have drawn in the groups against Bremen (They were okay), Sporting CP (AAAAARRRRGGGGHH) AND BARCELONA (GOOD LORD!) I don’t think we’ll get through . I need fantastic cheap players for under 340k! HELP PLEASE!!!

If you need a scout Ian Broomfield is the way to go. Gives you all the info. you want in one report, and not many other teams would know about him. Everyone says real madrid scouts, but those are to hard to get. Broomfield is a member of Portsmouth, and joined my staff in my West Brom game.

gareth…..im liverpool in my game and im now in 2010, alonso and riise are no longer at my club! i sold xabi 2o arsnel for £35 mil! bargain as i baught dinelson off them for £3mil, he is an awsome player can easily replace alonso no probs. n i tried 2 keep riise but he wnt sign a new contract as he wnted a new challenge, i rejected a £15 mil bid for him from barce as i wnted him 2 stay and kept offering him a contract in the end he left the club for free, if he wnts a new challenge he WILL go, so i recomd cashin in on them as soon as u can, both can be replaced with ease trust me.

I know Villla is exceptionally hard to get but just keep bugging Valencia with £100m, and he still won’t be interested until he is worried about how easily Valencia let us talk to him. Keep praising him at the same time and after he gets worried offer about 28m and and you should get him if you get in early. But if too hard to get Darren Bent is pretty good too.
You’ll need to sell a few players to get Akinfeev, Villa etc. I got 50m altogether before buying by selling about 20 players in my reserve i bought and trained extra hard e.g. V Hleb and others with potential. Also Barca wanted Craig Gordon after a season I sold him for 25m after buying him for 4m.
Trying to buy loads of wonderkids, I’ll tell you how that works out. There’s a training pack by Mikeadude on CMFrenzy.com or FMUnderground.com use that it is perfect.

Im a southampton fan, so im biased, but gareth bale does become a wonderkid..if ur not at southampton buy him, if u go up to the premiership hes worth atleast 3.3M and can be sold off 4 up to 10! Also, emile mpenza from a belgian side is a good bet. And if you have the funds to prise nikolas bendtner away from arsenal hes awesome, but a loan offer for him is best, along side agbonlahor, lupoli, walcott and adu!

I know this is sorta cheatin but i thought i’d mention it anyway 🙂 When your startin a game, straight away ask the board for a feeder club! Then retire and add new manager to the same club! Then again go and request a feeder club! And once again Retire and Add new manager!!! The more times ya do this the more feeder clubs ya get 🙂
About a month into the game i got about 6 different feeder clubs in about a week! And i dont mean jus 6 options! I mean that i got a list of feeder clubs, picked one and then a day or two later i got another list etc etc! Its always good havin a load of feeder clubs 🙂 Hope this helps!

Sign Gareth Bale bout £2million from Southampton, Andrea Ferretti Cardiff for less than £100k, scored over twenty in first season in championship and then over thirty in prem for west brom in my second season. Nacer Barazite from Arsenal can be a bit hit or miss but hes got a good return for me, bout £1.5 mill at end of first season. Enjoy

You must buy Gourcuff from Milan. At first, he doesn’t want to leave Milan, but by January in the 1st season, he’ll leave for a big club for just 5mil. I played him at AMR, and in his first full season he got player of the year and had an average rating of more than 8!
Guardado is the biggest bargain on the game for any club at under 3mil! Closely followed by Marcelo.
I also reccomend Ustari and Kasper Schmiechel if you need a keeper.
Trust me, I won the treble in my first season as Arsenal!

I’ve noticed you lot mainly use big teams (Premiership and above), but I’m starting a season with Shrewsbury Town at the moment and you get £25k transfer salary. Can anyone give me any tips on good players for this budget or preferrably free. Even if you can loan an ace player as a League 2 side. Like a lot of people who have wrote here and haven’t had a response I’m not expecting one but even if you could try it for an hour as a league 2 side and see how your signings get on can you let us know? It’s challenging!

If you want a VERY GOOD TALENT, then go and see River Plate and buy a player named Mateo Musacchio- amazing 15 year old defender (center) and his value is just 3,000!!! Many guys here told that Bojan is Da Best, but try to get him with a team from the 2nd league or with just a non-top team… You just can’t get him- it’s nearly impossible to get him in his younger ages… But you’re right- he’s a rare talent. You can find a very, very good player (striker of tomorow) in Crewe under 18s. His name is Junior Brown (17 years old). He’s good, but you must train him the right way… You can also try to get the best from the young talented goalkeeper Vincent hofman from Ajax 2. He’s not the best you can get, but if you can wait for him and you will play him 10-15 games every season you can get an amazing goalkeeper with great avg. rating… But it’s a bit risky… But his value is just 2,000 so try it and see (you can play him just in friendly or easy matches. Danilo Polizer can be good, but he’s not the best you can get (for exaple Musacchio), but he can help you very much… But the shame is, he did’nt get good rating every match (for example he had in my team ratings- 9, 6, 9, 5, 8… So it’s just your chose, but he’s worth just 18,000… If you have more money, then you can try too get Rydell Peopon from Ajax- amazing player if you give him time and space… That’s all from my young player spy eye… Thx for reading- GL & HF!

i have a best way to gain success. go to editor and pick your favourite players in your favourite club and then fix them potential ability and current ability to 200. that way they will be excellent players but loyal. and if you have troubles with selling of your players. like i don’t know chelsea and they offer 5 mil for your player. you just negotiate the offer by fixing there offer to 145 mill euro. that way they will cancel offer and you will have your players happy and yours

Forget the players everyone keeps mentioning ie marcelo, villa, etc. You want Acuna from Cadiz and Vela from Arsenal. Both cast less than 8 million and instantly become wonderkids if signed for a big club. i’m Naploi and there isn’t one team in europe can cope with them.
The best thing to do really is develop your own wonderkids. Either be a club with or build your academy to ‘state of the art’ and sit back. every 2-3 years you’ll get one or two special kids coming through. I’m in 2016 with Napoli and half my team has come through my acdaemy, including 2 wonderkids

I started with Ghana but got bord due to the lack of games and inability to develope a strong multinational squad. I therfore resigned and was straight away offered the job at Spurs which i took.
I am still in my first season with them but i am 12 points clear at the top of the premier league and in the quater finals of the European Cup.

Vanden boore is buy far one of the greatest buys on the game. Plays brialliantly at either MR or RB. Cheap to. Also Podolski has got to be mentioned. He scored 23 goals for me in 13 games (until he got injured 😦
Don’t forget Pazzini. He can be very expensive but is the perfect strike partner for Podolski.

Claudio Moldanando (DM)- he is really good and he is pretty young costs about 5 mil sign him
Bojan (ST)- Young and proberbly the best striker on the game within 3 years
Esau (ST)- really young striker but he scores loads in the u8’s of zaragoza
J.Myrie-Williams (LM)- Young winger plays for bristol city but trust me with the right amount of training he will become world class
Boyd (ST)- costs around 1m but he is worth it quality striker and rangers always let him go on my game
Jones (RB,CM)- plays for crewe but dont let that put you off he is really good and within a season playing for a lower league team prem teams come in for him
Jarman (ST)-young and really good. Dont let his ratings put you off he scores in almost every game
Jones (CM)- Plays for derby and he is a consistant performer with quality ratings
Barnett (CB)-Quality defender scores quite a few goals and he doesnt drop his performance, plays for luton

Hi! i’ve benn playing FM since it was a Cm3. Now i’m playing with Arsenal season 2016/17. Try adjusting trainings to goalkeepers( set goalkeeping high and aerobics and tactics), then defenders( tactics defending and physical atributes), midfielders( ball control tactics attacking) and attackers( shooting attacking etc.). I train separately all positions. i started this a couple years ago with FM4 and i highly recommend. so if you buy like Carlos Vela you adjust traing for attackers to shooting high attacking high strenght and aerobics medium and on the other hand defending and goalkeeping to lowest. So in a month or two at assistant managers training report you see defending categories decrease and attacking increase with players like Vela and other promising young players 🙂 useful all i can say enjoy 😀 the only thing i’m missing is Zinedine Zidane ! ! ! best player ever !

So guys, u play in premiership and if u din’t realized players grow depending on the country u play. for example in Spain an incredible DMC is SUNNY even if he doesn;t have great attributes he plays amaizing. i bought him at baeyern munich and he wasn’t too good and he’s atttributes were awful. When i gought him at valencia he became Wonderkid, like BOJAN, NANI, RAUL GARCIA, SAHIN. I strongly recommend u players like vela, marcelo(make him a ST), millan, cardenas, bojan and other incredible youngsters to let them about 6 months or a year to grow and play in peace for the C team…is the best way to have great results,

In the year 2014 FM 2007.Played with Milan right from the very beginning. 6 consecutive serie A, don’t remember how many super cups and italian cup. Two consecutive champions league, however took me some time to get it. Believe it was in the year 2012 and 2013. Anyways besides the physical and the technal attributes of any player the mental attr matter a lot too. In my case Milan’s big time players were coping better with pressure when they were older. I think Pirlo is one of the best player in FM 2007.If you search for players with free kicks ’15’, passing ’15’, marking ’15’ tackling ’15’ etc etc I am pretty sure Pirlo will be the only one.
If you want someone cheap look for Max Laiho,Henri Saivet, Julio Cesar, Aleandro Rosi, Conti from the youth system itself. Good LUCk!!

you should buy Hose Louis Sierra in the first year of play. He is old but he is incredible if your playing with a second league team.

Best Young player I have seen develop has to be Carlos Vela from Arsenal. He is on loan for the first season, when he returns try a £3mil bid, ignore his stats and just commit to playing him upfront every game. Out scores every striker no problems (headers, Long range screamers, tap ins, lobs, every type of goal you can score he will do it)

I don’t think anyone has mentioned Beniot Costil. Young french GK plays for Renne at the beginning of the game and contract is running out, renne will except a pretty low bid for him to begin with but you will need to offer him a decent contract or he will resign with renne. If this happens it’s not the end of the world you can nab him shortly after for about 1-2 mil. He was amazing for me once he hit his prime a little prone to rushing out a making mistakes when he was young but he ended up becoming a fine GK whom I have had troubles replacing in the last 3-4 years. He played untill he was 38 and notched up 135 caps for France. All this for under a mil.

andres guardado – atlas, mexico. Lot of assist and long range shots. beware of injury
raul albiol – great CB, very consistent. Also great as DM.
gareth bale, ryan bertrand – LB. Amazing LB, but need lot of training and time to grow. Great freekick taker.
